I want to be drawn closer to God. What can I do for that?
I also would like to know what I can draw that others are drawn closer to God? Especially in the newsgroups? And what might cause them to step back from God?
> I want to be drawn closer to God. What can I do for that?
Simply ask our heavely Father and you will receive.

Each person's walk with Christ is his/her own. Because of our different shapes (each of us are uniquely and wonderfully made), my experience is not likely to help you. This is so that we won't rely on others but on HIM.

You have them.
Hope this helps.
May GOD continue to bless you and yours today and every day in Jesus' most precious and holy name.

Not for those of us who have eternal life already through HIS Son, LORD Jesus Christ, Who chose to suffer terribly and die horribly for our deadly sins.

So now you're saying xians won't get bird flu. Only hindus, Moslems, etc., etc..,,, and of course, atheists.
Truly a chunker's Moron athon ! moment ,,,,,, AND you're an MD, something that I'm sure makes everyone connected with Emory U. cringe.

Ask Rolf Harris nicely. If you can afford her, you could also try Tracey Emin.

You seem to think that your LORD will protect you frpm anything. Why not put it to the test? Ever thought of trying snake handling?

I know the LORD will protect my soul from anything.
> Why not put it to the test?
It is written that we are not to test GOD.

No.
It remains my choice to think of only things that will glorify GOD, Whom I love with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength.

So, there is a distinction, then, between you and your soul? What exactly is it?

He doesn't like his own medicine?

Pity. It would prove that he protected you, and even if the worst came to the worst, you know, do you not, that you will recieve your reward for your faith in what you insist is a better place.

Well, then how can you ever verify that any of these claims about what god can do, are true?
I mean, what if it's all a bunch of mythic lies, that just hang around because they are never proven false in a test?
How about that chunkers?
Of course, I guess you don't really believe in god at all, or else you wouldn't dare to add the jesus god to your pantheon, against his commandment.

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Apparently Andrew is not among "them that believe". it appears that these signs do not follow him.
Unless, of course, he employs the laying of on hands in his practice of cardiology.

I stepped back because I became someone I never thought I would be. That flame war a couple Christmas's ago got inside of me and welled up the anger and my own sins caused me to step back and away. I can only blame myself.

It turns out that there are no devils to cast out. There is mental illness. Apparently science is what Jesus was predicting.

Actually, my thinking about trying snake handling would prove nothing.
Truth is simple.

If that is so, and I wouldn't disagree insofar as there is anything that could, for argument's sake, be called a soul, then the soul is as mortal as the body.

Not for those who have been reborn of water and the Holy Spirit through faith in LORD Jesus Christ, Who chose to suffer terribly and die horribly to save us from our deadly sins.
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23)

That's a quotation, not an answer. Your evasion betrays your lack of conviction, and despite it, you have managed to contradict yourself. Let me sort this out for you. Your soul, which is in truth your mind, you claim is immortal because you had a brief bath and some stuff was said whilst you were having it. My mind/soul I know to be part of my body and equally mortal, which places it wholly in this actual reality. That makes me sane, and you mentally ill.

sensi: God is always with you.Sometimes it's about accepting God working in each individual even when you disagree with how God works life is still at work.
People don't step back from God they step back from individuals who 'think' they have more rights than any other individual.

Actually, an answer can include a quotation.

Actually, answering is not evading.
> Let me sort this out for you. Your soul, which is in truth your mind,
Actually, there are folks who have become brain-dead because of various medical conditions and yet, their bodies remain alive because of the soul and not the mind.
> you claim is immortal because you had a brief bath and some stuff was > said whilst you were having it.
Actually, eternal life comes from faith in LORD Jesus Christ, Who has the keys to death.
> My mind/soul I know to be part of my > body and equally mortal, which places it wholly in this actual reality.
Actually, the suidical ideation manifest by the death wish you have expressed as archived in Google indicates that yours is a disconnect with reality.
> That makes me sane, and you mentally ill.
My suggestion that you inform a psychiatrist about your apparent suidicidal ideations stand.
Bottomline: You demonstrate that you are completely without the truth.
