five Bostonians lay dead on the street. Paul Revere published a print of the
encounter that Sam Adams called a �bloody butchery.� Some considered this
the first skirmish in the Revolutionary War that followed five years later.
The colonists wanted vengeance for the shootings, but John Adams won
acquittal based on self-defense. �Facts,� Adams told the jury, �are stubborn
things and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictums of
our passions, they cannot alter the state of the facts and evidences.� It is
for this exact same reason that the gospel of Jesus Christ is still being
believed twenty centuries after Christ was crucified.

The Christian faith is founded on the stubborn fact that the Jesus crucified
by the Roman governor returned to life on the third day after being buried
and has the authority of God to save to the uttermost anyone and everyone
who will turn to him in faith. He risks eternal destruction who will not bow
to the command of God to trust the saving grace of his Son.

The Christian faith is founded on mythology from a period so far away nothing
about it can be verified in any shape or form.
I copied an even better definition half an hour ago, I will paste it for you:
"God" is a relic of Ancestor Worship, but the Old Man of the Tribe is long
dead, even if his fearsome memory lingers on.
Each of us Mad Apes came from black nothingness into conscious existence, and
there is no reason to suppose we'll revert to anything but that when we die.
So, Theists, get over it! If you have a God, then trot him out, as he is
conspicuous by his absence.
In a Scientific Age, any hypothesis must be testable, and the God Hypothesis is
useless in that respect - all miracles, revelations, visitations, etc, happened
in a more credulous superstitious past, and religion survives today only by
indoctrination of the young from generation to generation.
Most animals only believe what they can currently see, hear, feel, etc - only
the Mad Ape believes in mental fictions for which there is no empirical proof.Σ
