actually experience the os....
but with simulation in win 2K, people will get screwed up if they just read
books without hand-on experience

It means someone who has passed MCP/MCSE exams but not gained any real life
experience. Thus the appearance on a CV of a desirable technical guru when
in fact it is likely to be someone who needs very considerable practical on
the job training before they are truely valuable to a company. There is a
worry amoung the technical professionals that the value of the qualification
will be driven down by such people. It is currently, unfortunately, quite
easy to put a few months hard study into getting the type of questions asked
in the MCP exams correct and get an MCSE and still be left in a position
highly unsuited to any level of authority or trust within an orginisation.

My personal belief is that MCP/MCSE's are the ideal cream on the cake of
solid technical experience. If you follow the study guides fully and not
just glaze over them looking for the parts that will get you MCP questions
right, you will greatly compliment your exisiting knowlegde of the topic you
are studying. This will make you a valuable asset to any company and
greatly increase your worth as a contractor.
