More web users than ever are reporting incidences of child pornography
images on the web, says the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF).

The web charity revealed that reports of potentially illegal images
had risen by five percent to 270,000 compared to this time last year.
However, only one in five or those images was confirmed by the IWF as
child sexual abuse.

The IWF released the data to mark its third Awareness Day, which aims
to encourage web users to report sexual abuse images found on the web.

The charity also said that 99 percent of all child pornography was
traced to servers outside the UK and of those found in the UK, all
were removed on the same day they were reported.

Eve Salomon, IWF Chair, said: "With the help of our Hotline, the UK
has an excellent record in eradicating child sexual abuse images on
the internet in partnership with 35 other Hotlines around the world
and with the support of our 100 industry members. These websites are
reducing in number globally and where they are sited in the UK, they
are removed extremely quickly".

that no safe way has been found of paying for it.

I'm curious to know who is reporting all this child porn, given that a
thumbnail of a flat chested 18 year old will get you on the sex
offenders register.
