ALL the search engines do the same, or they're not allowed to operate in
china at all.
Despite google's "don't be evil", they are a business not a charity. they
block whatever
the chinese government wants them to block.

No, it's not the same. This has nothign to do with operating in China
at all. They are censoring EVERYBODY IN THE WORLD who uses that
language. So someone who lives in America but wants to search in
Chinese will get censored results. This isn't about operating in
China, this is how they operate in the entire world.
