Hi,

I had to swap two of my phones (did an ESN swap between the two) due to
which phone came with Sprint business connection service. Anyway, one is a
Treo 600 and the other a Samsung VGA1000. About two days after ESN
swapping, I had to call and have Vision service fixed because neither could
access the Vision network. Other than blowing away all of my PCS email,
address book, and configuration... everything as far as Vision seems to
work. You think they would have mentioned that part when 'fixing' my
account.

My picture share works for the Treo but not the Samsung. The Samsung
actually got locked out (they immediately sent me a text notification that
said to call sprint regarding my picture share to have my phone/account
reset). I called for support and they had me return my phone to factory
defaults (through some menu options) and they unlocked my picture share
account on their side. It now asks for my password on my phone when I
attempt to share a picture, but it continually asks this! I can type in my
picture share password from the previous phone, etc. and it just keeps
asking for my picture share password. The Sprint PCS guy said my only
solution now is to have the phone reflashed at a service center!!! Is this
right??!! This doesn't make sense to me. He used the analogy that like a
doctor he asked what was wrong before he would send me to the emergency
room. If their network keeps having the phone prompt for a new password,
isn't this problem on their network side? I don't see how the phone could
be the actual problem. And is reflashing a real solution? My luck will be
they still don't have the data cable for the VGA1000, so the phone book will
be gone :(.

Thanks for any help!

Your problem is a very very simple one to fix. What you need to reset is
the picture token (explained below what it is).

On the VGA 1000, that is menu 6, Security, (enter your lock code), option 8
'reset picture account', tell it *yes* to resetting token. I must emphasize
that this does NOT in any, way, shape, or form delete any pictures on your
camera, and/or on your PM account.

What this does is it resets the token so that you can log into picture mail
again.

Simply put what's happening is this token works similar to a cookie in that
it caches the old info until you reset it. Once you reset it, and then put
in your pw on the phone, you should be able to log through your phone again.

Thanks Terry...

I tried what you said (menu - 8 - 6 - lock code - 8 - Yes) and then tried to
access picture share again. It still asks for password for picture share
over and over. So then I went to pictures.sprintpcs.com and clicked 'forgot
password'. When I enter my telephone number it says "Error retrieving your
password. Make sure your PCS Phone Number was entered correctly." So I'm
not sure what is wrong... doh!

Thanks,
Thomas

Do you have a picture mail pack with Vision? If you swapped over from a
Treo, which is NOT a camera phone, you may need SPCS to reset your vision to
a picture pack.

It sounds to me like its not creating the account on sprint's end.

Terry,

The Treo had a picture pack (it has a camera, but I guess it is more of a
PDA) and I did check my plan online to make sure. I had shared pictures
from both the Treo and the VGA1000 before swapping ESNs. On sprintpcs.com
it still shows the picture pack on both lines.

I appreciate your help. I feel more confident calling Vision support back
now and explaining what I am seeing.

Thanks,
Thomas
