What is the phone with the best picture quality?

How good is the reception and clarity?

Oddly enough, I like the Sanyo 5300 (I know its a long-discountinued phone,
but its one of the best sprint phones I've ever used)

I've had T616, Nokia 3650 & Samsung a620; The best pics came from the
Samsung A620! I couldn't believe the clarity; it looked almost like a
live shot! However, I'm a heavy chatter and this phone drove me nuts!!
1. It doesn't capitalize the first word in a sentence
2. You have to choose "symbols", then go to the third page of symbols
just to get commonly used puntuation marks!

But as far as your question goes, If you're more interesting in
sending pics, the A620 is my suggestion.

1) You said.....

" I like the Sanyo 5300 (I know its a long-discountinued phone, but its one

A) I don't know where you are seeing that the Sanyo 5300 is
"long-discontinued"
-1- It's still current in Sprint Stores
-2- It's still current on the Sprint site
-3- It's still current on the Sanyo site

B) I AGREE it's one of the best Sprint phones I've ever used...

2) CNET has a good review of the phone and user comments (the good, the bad
and the Ugly). 84% positive!

3) I previously had Samsung 3500 phone. Kept blaming reception on 'towers',
location etc. etc.
WOW what a difference this phone has made.
Far, Far, Far few dropped calls, in exactly the same locations
Clearer calls
(Also note the Samsung 3500 was replaced once and had diagnostics ran
multiple times)

4) Actually at this point, I should say I didn't replace my 3500 with a
5300. We have multiple phones on the account.
I replaced 2 3500's (locally) with 5300's, shipped another 5300 to my son to
swap his 5300 and my other son picked up a 5300.

5) Why a 5300? (When a 8100 is CHEAPER!!)
Yes an 8100 is CHEAPER, but that costs you some features...

5300 comes with a normal and an Extended life battery,
I don't know what the 8100 has

Additionally the resolution of the photos is 640x480 full VGA on the 5300
and only 352x288 on the 8100.

5300 has flash...8100 does not
5300 has zoom..8100 does not

BUT ...supposedly 8100 browser is faster....
BUT.... 8100 is lighter, less bulky.

Here is another comparison
http://www.freecellphonesguy.com/freecellphonesguy-sprint-sanyo-8100-comparison-with-sanyo-5300.cfm

5300 came recommended to me also, by my local Sprint rep...
