Problems with 3 mobile Skype

I have an unlocked Nokia 6124, which is a Vodafone badged version of the 6120. For two weeks I have been running Skype with a 3 Mobile pay as you go sim card in it. N86 crap battery life?

I am very pleased with my N86 apart from the fact that the battery goes flat in less than half a day in normal use. Is this a known problem?
