I've just got a Nokia N86 and now I have two synchronising systems (I have
Outlook on my PC)

Should I choose to only use one and, if so, which do you think?

Or is it an "it all depends..." thing?

TIA.

I'd stick with PC Suite. Ovi takes a long time to load, and I don't see
it offer anything radically new over PC Suite beyond a prettified interface.
Moreover, only with PC Suite do you get 'Nokia phone browser' in Windows
Explorer, that lets you quickly browse the folders on your phone memory
or memory card.

I am using both at the moment and although it seems the Ovi suite is
supposed to be overtaking the NPCS I much prefer using the Nokia PC Suite
software better.

I just tried OVI and I will stop using it. I agree with the other
reaction that it is prettier that PC Suite, but it is NOT GOOD. Not
only is it VERY SLOOOOOOOOW, it makes errors when synchronising with
Outlook:
- I lost a very important invitation (with 30 invitees): the invitation
is gone from Outlook and stayed only on the GSM, but after another
sync'ing it's gone from both. I never had this with PC Suite
- I have a few repeating tasks in Outlook (from weekly to yearly).
After a few sync'ing actions, all repeating tasks are now fully
expanded, so I now have actions for every week till 2045.

The only nice thing about OVI is that it is a bit easier to use for
music. But on the other hand it can't handle video. So BAD stuff.

Thank you for this and the replies from other people.

OVI has now locked me out of my Nokia account for no apparent reason and
keeps prompting me (during synchronisation) for payment for tracks I had
bought from Nokia itself.

Hopeless.

As you say, Frank, it looks nice but doesn't work reliably.
