This group and elsewhere was confusing on the answer of whether you need a data plan to use Android voice-to-texting features. Some say you needed a data plan; others said you didnt. Most didn't seem to realize the question was *only* regarding SMS texting

How can I debug why my Sprint Note 2 won't tether to Windows?

I've tried to tether my Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 2 smartphone
to my Windows 7 laptop using a USB cable - but it never works. When I plug the smart phone in to the laptop, the phone says
it's plugged in as a USB device, but the PC doesn't recognize
it as a wireless data tethering.
What debugging can I do to figure out WHY it's not tethering?... more »

Is it normal for my Samsung Galaxy S3 to overheat on a charger

I don't know if I should complain to T-Mobile or not that
my new Samsung Galaxy S3 gets so hot sometimes when I charge
it on the car charger that it has to shut down due to battery temperature overheating.
Is this normal for your Samsung Galaxy SIII?

Do you think that Peer-to-Peer, FTP
IRC technologies etc...are too much complicated !? There is a simpler technology to use, Autosend. This software allows file-sharing by only using your e-mail account. Autosend allows sharing files on your computer through regular email. It is an automatic file mailer... more »

What is needed for voice-to-text texting on Android?
I've never had an Android phone, and, all I really want is voice-to-text texting and perhaps also the speaking back of the message, hands free.
I don't want a data plan - so that's why I'm going with

Among my mini & micro USB devices, I have a Motorola RAZR that I want to charge in my 2.1 Amp USB car cigarette adapter.
Everything charges with this setup EXCEPT the Motorola RAZR V3.
Digging into why, apparently Motorola uses a 5-wire cable instead of
a 4 wire cable.
