But I just read the Consumer Reports reviews of the major cellular
carriers and frankly, ATT was on the bottom in most markets. CR's
assessment was too many data hungry iPhones/smart phones--- not enough
network capacity.
So.....what say you. Are you happy with your service using iPhones or
any other smart phone on ATT? Static, drops, no-service?
Should I take the plunge? Will I regret it? Oh and BTW, my phone is very
important to me. About three years ago, I ported my main business phone
number to my cell.

I just switched from AT&T to VZW. I miss the iPhone, but I need
service that actually works.

My take on telephony these days: if it's copper loop to your CO,
it's a reliable, rock-steady, professional service. Anything else,
it's an "offering," designed to make money for the outfit doing
the offering, but basically catch-as-catch-can when it comes to
reliability. DSL, cellular, whatever -- the providers are just out
to make money off of you, while the service they're pretending is
as reliable as wire-line ... ain't, so don't count on it.
As usual, YMMV. Cheers, -- tlvp
