Hello,

I've a T-Mobile MDA Compact III with bluetooth and GPRS (flat-fee).
This works fine
also I've a Toshiba laptop with the latest bluetooth stack (running on
Microsoft Windows)

Now I hope it is possible to use my PDA with GPRS connection as a
internet access point for my laptop.
Schema:

Internet <---(gprs)----> PDA <----(bluetooth)-----> Laptop

Can anyone tell me if this is possible and where to start?
- Internet on the PDA works fine
- ActiveSync can sync my PDA over bluetooth (there is a partnership)

Call up T-Mobile they should be able to help you with it. You might have to
add something like "Phone as Modem" to your plan to get it to work.

Once they have given you what it takes on their side there are basically two
ways to get the internet from your phone via bluetooth to the laptop.
Bluetooth PAN (Personal Area Network) or BT DUN (Dial Up Networking).

BT DUN is on the older phones and BT PAN is on the newer phones.

The neat thing about BT DUN is you might not have to run a seperate
aplication on your phone for that to work and you might be able to setup a
dialup connection on your laptop to automatically connect.

The neat thing about BT PAN is you can use the internet on your phone at the
same time you are using it on your laptop and it stays connected even if you
get a phone call.
