Definitely, particularly if either used at weekends only or thrashed on
track days. I'd suggest half-way between services, at 4,500. The following

Depends on what you're doing with it. If your bouncing it off the rev
limiter all day
(ie lots of track days) and your oil keeps going black then for the price of
a can
of oil I would change it more often.
