I have glanced through the library's copies, mostly to see if they
were as badly written as some reviewers say they were. Not really,
maybe about the level of Hubbard's 10 book series. Of course the
subject matter would be of interest only to those who believe in "The
Rapture" and all that stuff. (Catholics don't.) Enough people do to
make these books profitable (prophetable?)best sellers.
And of course many would not call this series science fiction or
fantasy. Book stores tend to place them in a catagory like "Christian
Fiction" or "Inspirational fiction".
No doubt about it, series = money
Well, there are more than 16 (what 20+?) Xanth books (he should have
quit about book 7 or 8). Robert Jordan's "Wheel of Time Series" was,
it appears 15 books (or will be 15...)
Anyone know how many original "Nancy Drew" books there were? And
there are now 10 (13?) books in C.J.Cherryh's "Foreigner" series of
trilogies.

29, IF THIS WEB PAGE IS ANY INDICATION...
Oh, yeah. I remember some of those. We're not big Nora Roberts fans,
but I've read a couple of them. They're not bad.
And then there's Sue Grafton, who appears to intend 26 -- her alphabet
detective . . .

If you read about it, "where the money is" seems to mean graphic
novels, movies, and a 40 book series for teenagers ... so maybe you
can think of it as a 56 book series (except that there were two series
spun off for kids ... you figure it out my head is starting to spin).
