Anyway, through a fluke of illness, Lucas qualified during the last
meet to run Varsity this week (two of their super-fast runners were
sick, so he placed 7th). Ran today with the varsity teams and came in
29th overall (7th for his school) -- 29th place out of 23 *Schools*
running (not sure how many runners, total). Shaved 17 seconds off of
last weekend's 5K time and came in at 17:53.
Not bad for one of the new guys!
Proud of my boy, I am (plus, he's keeping an "A" in both biology and
geometry).
