Filkwriter Jan Kelson collapsed and was taken to the hospital just
before LosCon (Thanksgiving weekend). She is on a respirator (now a
long-term one in her trachea), and has a variety of problems including
a cyst on one kidney and something else wrong with the other. She has
diabetes and hasn't been doing a good job of taking care of herself.

She has been there over two weeks and has not gotten any better. Now
she has been moved to a long-term nursing facility, and the Sterns
(who had been letting her live with them and taking care of her) report
that she looks worse than when they first phoned the paramedics.

Jan wrote a lot of beautiful songs, including "Demon Ring," "Red Wine,
Red Roses, and You," "A Song for Pinnochio" (about Data on ST:TNG),
and the three hankie song "Forever Lullaby". Also numerous humorous
songs including "Kitty Cat Waltz" and "Marquis de Sade".

Good thoughts and prayers would be appreciated.
