Uniontown Nurse Accused Of Illegally Obtaining Drugs

UNIONTOWN, Pa. -- The wife of the Uniontown police chief is accused of
using phony prescriptions to get painkillers, the state Attorney
General's office said.
Marsha Sneddon, 52, of Farmington, faces charges for using the names
of two UPMC Uniontown Cancer Center doctors to illegally purchase the
prescription pain killer Vicoprofen from Jan. 1 to June 6, 2002,
according to court documents.
One doctor told Edward Cartwright, an agent for the state Attorney
General's Bureau of Narcotics, that Sneddon, who is a nurse at the
cancer center, was not a patient. Another doctor told Cartwright that
he approved one prescription for Sneddon, but not in 2002, court
documents said.
Sneddon is the wife of Uniontown police Chief Kyle Sneddon.
She waived her right to a preliminary hearing and will stand trial in
a Fayette County court.
