Just spent two nights in the VA hospital for congestive heart
failure/fluid buildup. I'm getting tired of this, but I've got the
routine down. I've learned what not to take to the hospital (knives,
porn, etc.) and what to take (change, reading material). My friend John
took over dog watch duties, and I had several visitors. As hospital
stays go, it was fairly pleasant. I watched the WWII series on the
history channel, and a couple of old movies.

I'm trying to resign myself to being chronically ill, but I don't like
it. I keep thinking that some miracle will occur, and all of this stuff
will go away and leave me alone. I hate not being able to go hunting
the way I always have, and not being able to go where I please. Being
sick sucks.

Man, it sucks just hearing about it. Glad you're out; take care of
yourself.

I hear that. My aunt is in the hospital right now dying
so we are all rotating keeping her company. It's not bad
for we men because there are a lot of nurses and other
functionaries who are quite restful on the eyes. My aunt
is ill enough she spends a lot of time dozing off. It
must be hell for the women, except probably when that young
handsome doctor guy with the indistinct euro accent comes in.

If necessary I'm sure Bonfils could write a note for you
explaining the principles of free expression and how pron is
actually a kind of literature even when it's just pictures.

It's great you're out Wally. I wonder sometimes if it was easier for our
parents to make the adjustments of age and health sometimes. I mean they
didn't seem to mind - or mine didn't. But they weren't as active so maybe it
wasn't the same. Every little adjustment I have to make makes me cranky. I
know most of us can't understand what is happening for you right now. But be
assured we all will most likely follow in our own way and time. Any words of
wisdom as you learn to deal with things will be greatly appreciated.

Can you still have raucous sex? (I can't believe no one else asked)

That sux. What type do you have and when did it begin?

Just got my Va. lifetime hunting/fishing license this year
- 30 bux if you're over 65. Guess they figure you won't be
doing it very long at that age... Pit Bull is plentiful
in Orange county - all I need is a good Korean recipe...

Well, I could come visit, and we could find out.

We would probably both end up on the cardiac unit.

Hope it turns out OK...is there any strategy such as weight
loss, diet change that can stop this?

Kewl. We could have raucous sex, entwined in tubes, with EKG wires
flailing like banners in a high wind.

Yeah, those things help. I am slowly losing weight, and my exercise
puppy is toning me up. But the heart damage I have is more or less
permanent, so far as I know. It runs in my family.

That thought alone would get anyone through th next hospital visit! Tom
Robbins doesn't have anything on how you turn a phrase too.

EKG wires do not flail.
Wind does not flail.
Mind flails.

Hope you get as less sick as possible as soon as possible, and that the
hospital gets more open minded about knives and porn.

It could be like that scene in "Something's Gotta Give" where she takes
his blood pressure as they are getting it on.

120/80 wooohooo!

Best wishes
