SK Inspired writer - new stories
My name is Jack Dunn, and I write genre fiction, mostly horror, sci- fi, and historical stories. If you're tired of mascara-wearing, romantic, soft-handed, emo vampires, and would like a little roar put back into your horror, have I got the book for you. I grew up reading the master, Stephen King, and my work is a tribute to his genius. I... more »

( OT ) I just realized......I hated the movie version of The Mist
Well, mostly the ending, though I thought the character interaction lacked substance and the mutants themselves were a little less than believable. This should have been like jaws, the only reason that damn movie made it was because we don't even see the shark until like halfway through the film.... more »

Big Steve in New Yorker
Bev provided me with a heads-up on where to find Big Steve's November Playboy piece online. I'm real glad I didn't pay cover-price for it. Is the New Yorker piece online, and if not, is it worth finding a bookstore for (I say _finding a bookstore_ because I live in a declining part of town, and bookstores just aren't that easy to find... more »

Stephen King and Scott Snyder give "American Vampire" an evolutionary twist
(USA Today) - When Scott Snyder first imagined a comic series based on the idea of vampire evolution, he wasn't planning on Stephen King's involvement. Now, as "American Vampire" prepares to launch, Snyder finds himself explaining how the master of horror committed to writing half of the series' first story arc — five monthly installments that... more »

Big Steve in November Playboy -- question
...It's a prose poem, and you can find it online: [link] However, you probably do want to hunt down the Nov 9th issue of The New Yorker, which has a new Castle Rock story: Premium Harmony. Should be on news stands next week. Also, the next issue of Entertainment Weekly will... more »

E-book version of "Under the Dome" to be delayed
(Examiner.com) - Stephen King’s fans who prefer to read on screens rather than on paper are going to be disappointed with his upcoming novel "Under the Dome" (Amazon.com: [link] ). No, their disappointment won’t be related to how good or how bad the novel will be. Rather, their disappointment will be regarding how much... more »
