Hi all,

Multiple links to full-length professional reviews of the following
books released in the US have been added to http://www.reviewsofbooks.com
in the last week:

"Defending Jacob" by William Landay - In "Defending Jacob," Andy
Barber is a respected assistant district attorney when a teenage boy
is stabbed to death in a local park.  Evidence makes Andy's fourteen-
year-old son, Jacob, the prime suspect.  When Jacob is charged with
murder, Andy refuses to believe his son could be guilty and does
everything he can to defend his son.  It's a decision that threatens
his marriage and could potentially reveal secrets Andy has harbored
since childhood.  It also leads to difficult truths that Andy would
rather not face.  William Landay's novel has received mostly positive
reviews with BookReporter.com saying, "'Defending Jacob' presents an
unsettling picture on an exquisite but disturbing canvas, one that
will haunt the reader long after the final sentences of the book are
read."

"Vulture Peak" by John Burdett - In "Vulture Peak," Sonchai
Jitpleecheep, the Bangkok detective who is half-American, devoutly
Buddhist, yet accepting of the corrupt world of Thai police is sent to
investigate the black market of human organ trafficking.  The
assignment came from his commander, Colonel Vikhorn, who is running
for governor and may be involved in his own trafficking.  Sonchai's
investigation takes him around the world, but appears to center on
twin Chinese sisters, both of them surgeons and known as the
Vultures.  Back home, rumors are that Chanya, Sonchai's ex-prostitute
wife, has taken a lover.  John Burdett's novel has received positive
reviews with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette saying, "As usual, Mr.
Burdett slips his political criticism between the sheets of a largely
compelling story. Sonchai's latest adventure is fine entertainment,
with bite, from an author at home in many different worlds."
