The Buddha is Still Teaching
Jack Kornfield
Shambhala
300 Massachusetts Avenue, Boston MA 02115
9781590306925, $19.95, www.shambhala.com

The Buddha is Still Teaching offers a fine collection of essays on
Buddhism and offers selections from fine modern Buddhist teachers who
provide insights on Buddhism's ongoing relationship to today's culture
and society. Sylvia Boorstein, the Dalai Lama, Ram Dass, and many
others provide important meditations recommended for any collection
strong in Buddhist principles.

Tibetan Yogas of Body, Speech and Mind
Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche
Snow Lion Publications
Box 6483, Ithaca, NY 14851
9781559393805, $18.95, www.snowlionpub.com

Tibetan Yogas of Body, Speech and Mind provides new age collections
with a fine survey of traditional practices key to Buddhist faith and
spirituality. It provides Tibetan meditation practices to all levels
of students and keys such practices to specific work with the body and
mind, pairing the Tibetan yoga exercises with visualizations and
meditation insights. From the five indestructible warrior sounds to
visualizing healing flames and more, this is a fine pick recommended
for Buddhist and new age holdings alike.

Dokusan with Dogen
Barbara Verkuilen
Firethroat Press
2789 Marledge Street
Madison, WI 53711-5257
9780983097211, $15.95, www.firethroatpress.com

Buddhism is very hard to define at the top of one's head. "Dokusan
with Dogen: Timeless Lessons in Negotiating the Way" discusses the
lessons put forth by Dogen, a Zen Master of thirteenth century Japan
who is credited with much of the philosophy of thought surrounding the
Zen brand of Buddhism. These ten essays seek to explain the Zen
masters work, and how they can be applied to modern Buddhists.
"Dokusan with Dogen" is a strongly recommended pick for any Buddhist
studies collections.
