I think that Zeefor's reference is more related to how Death, in His
interactions with humans /generally/[1] finds that they
ignore/reinterpret[2] the reality, but afterwards they tend to think of
him as "tall, very thin" without being able to expand on it.
And this happens regardless of whether Death is 'off-Duty' or not,

You could be conflating Death and Princess Keli in _Mort_ . In that
book, Death goes missing and his apprentice messes up the duty when
Princess Keli is supposed to die, leaving her alive. However, because
she was supposed to have died, people forget that she's still alive,
even when she is talking to them.

Do you know by any chance whether it will be released in an ebook
version? Amazon won't see Kindles or Kindle books outside the US.
If I can find it as a mobipocket ebook version I can be reading it the
same day rather than wait the month or more before it gets to Tasmania.
