My SO picked up this 16 page* "uncorrected proof" promotional item. A
nice item for free and could become worth something in many years time**
if mine had not got damp in the rain.

Apparently "The World of Pratchett 2012" (see *) includes "Apocalypse
COW" and "Half Sick of Shadows" back in May. These are by Micael Logan
and David Logan respectively and apart from being "British Science
Humor"*** I cannot see where they join this disc.

October is the apparent date for "A Blink of the Screen: Collected
Shorter Writings and November for the Ankh-Morepork City Guide.****

Finally - and don't tell a soul because this is apparently "TOP
SECRET"... The Discworld(R) App coming soon!

*11 pages of text, frontispiece, two pages with 'adverts' + faux cover
with previous books inside front cover and "The World of Pratchett 2012"
inside back cover
**not likely, but there are those who will hoard a copy against the day...
***is this a new fiction category? - Not saying that Science Humour is
new, just that I have never heard the phrase coined before.
****Tell Father Christmas (N.B. <FLAME-PROOF SUIT> I don't hold truck
with that Santa Guy </FLAME-PROOF SUIT> )

They're the joint inagural winners of the Terry Pratchett 'Anywhere
But Here, Anywhen But Now' award for new Britsh Sci-Fi. The winners
were picked by Terry and won a publsihing contract.

So not by Terry but you could imply reccomended by him. Not the Disc
but a disc (possibly)

Normally considered to be 'bad hat'* but I am replying to (updating) my
own post.

I read the sampler and found it good.

As clearly stated elsewhere - this is not a Discworld book, but it
remains to be seen (or not) if it is the same world as Nation or another
'Long Earth' like the one in Nation but not the same. However, one part
of the plot already revealed in the book would mean that is is probably
not strictly this Earth.

I will have to wait until it is released and as well as a dreaded e-book
I will probably be getting a hard back to keep my furnishing**
collection going ;-)

*whatever that means ;-) possibly a mishear on my behalf
**Good books doth furnish a room (a quote by someone whom I know not off
and can't be bothered to find)
