I was trying to figure out where my very first post was on another alt
group when I kept getting just 1999, no matter how far back I tried to
go.

So I came here and searched myself, then went as far back as it would
go. Nope, wouldn't take me any further than 1999 either. It appears
that google groups only archived as far as February 6th, 1999. LOL.
I sure would like to see my very first post on some of these groups
though...

But the "first" thread it put there with me in it was "Who'd live in
Vladimir?" And in there I found myself saying this to Armorfiend
about art (at the time I was getting ready to graduate high shcool):

"All kinds right now. I'm taken AP and independent study. For a
concentration though I picked fantasy creatures. I am trying to work
in every media offered to me no matter how I dislike it so I can know
what I
do like and for the practice. I really like pencil, colored pencil,
pen and mixed media (just did a piece with the two listed plus pen and
markers. "

And here it took me nearly 10 years, but I finally graduated with my
BFA in May and I have to say, it hasn't changed by much.

:)

Just being nostalgiac. I realize how little some things change. And
yet in other cases, so much...

Hello! It's good to see you here again. (Of course we see each other on
LiveJournal often enough, but still. {BIG SMILE}

I think when Google Groups started, they only archived the Big 8 (or did
they start when it was the Big 7?). They added alt and other hierarchies
later. 1999 could be right. Anyway, the only time you find older alt posts
is when they were cross-posted to at least one Big # group. {odd smile}

'Fiend is long gone as far as I can tell, but you still love art... if
that doesn't illustrate exactly what you mean, I don't know what does. {BIG
SMILE}

Hmmmm. Are pencil, pen, and mixed media still your favorites? :>

People do seem to have essential parts of their nature that do not
change... though what is actually essential never winds up what
Teenage Me thought it would be...

Congrats on the BFA. :>

I know you weren't asking me, but they're usually what she posts on her
art-LiveJournal. {Smile}
