I gather he gave us permission to pray *for* him if that made us feel
better, but I doubt if he considered *that* possibility.  %^)

My Dear Hitchens, you sent Jerry Falwell to a mythical hell never once
guessing you could be sent to its opposite place.  Sure, you followed
Orwell's caution to avoid sainthood - indeed, to the letter - with
alcohol, tobacco and *so forth* enthusiastically not avoided.
Especially the *so forth*. Still (in spite of that acid tongue) what
you really wanted was pretty much what we all want. Peace on earth.
