I came home from work the other day and there was a Bukowski book in my back
door.

Did not know how it got there.

A few days later a friend of mine stopped by and he told me another friend
of mine had given it to him
to return to me.

I had lent it out ten years ago!!!!

(The guy just got out of prison where he had been for 7 years)

I guess that;s a good enough excuse.

That still leaves 3 years not accounted for...but I guess there'd be no
sense in complaining...
just glad I finally got it back

He was maybe 25 years old when he went in. I guess he and his buddies were
selling
HUGE amounts of pot. All the others opted to admit their guilt and were out
on a few years...
but this dude tried to say he was innocent...and the court system gave him a
lot more time.
He was in a low security prison and I guess they were no too rough on him.

Anyway I got my Bukoswki book back and my GF actually read it an liked it.
ten years ago she would not have read it
