I'm sorry if it bothers you as a Futurist, but the fact is,
that it is a fact that most Futurist only give lip service
to the idea of helping others and while they may throw
a few bucks at a "Christian cause", they don't actively
help out! And before anyone tries to deny this, with
all of the millions of Christians in the world, if they
were not guilty of this, the number of those who are
homeless and/or don't eat in the world, would be cut
in half tomorrow, if they were active! And before
anyone points their finger at Preterists, don't forget,
you're the ones claiming we hardly even exist, let alone
have any real numbers!
So anyway, this leads to the question...
Question: Even if Preterism is true, what difference
does it make anyways?
Answer: The apparent failure of these prophesies
to come true has led to skepticism about
the reliability of the Bible and the Deity of
Christ. Preterism solves this problem by
maintaining that these prophecies did,
in fact, have a first century fulfillment.
If Preterist eschatology is true, then
Christians can offer a much more positive
perspective to the world, rather than a
fatalistic end of the world where our actions
make no difference! If we are confident as
Christians that we can positively influence
the world around us, we can perhaps motivate
believers to actively be involved in helping
the poor, caring for the environment, actively
participate in politics and preserving the
world for all future generations. Preterism
offers hope and maintains the integrity of
the Scripture and of the entire Christian faith
while it defends it against other religions and
Christian cults that place the Second Coming
of Jesus after A.D. 70.
Or, you can try to blame others for it and point your finger
at someone else, claiming that they haven't done anything
when in fact:
1) You don't know that.
2) It is just an attempt by you to distract people,
because you know you haven't really done anything
of significance and your attack will be nothing more
than proof of this.
Or, you can watch the world be run down and then claim
"It's God's plan!", when it was really you sitting on your
ass, trying to pawn off your inaction onto God Almighty! (:
All of these are your choices. But one thing is for sure...
There isn't one aspect of the Futurist doctrine itself that
tells people to try to help make the world a better place!
All it says to others is, "Kneel down, place your head
between your legs and kiss your ass goodbye!" !!!
And if you don't get with our program, then you won't
get to be part of a physical paradise! Na, na, na, na, na!

Here is where Pester Dave reveals his REAL intentions, which are DOMINIONIST
intentions: It is not good enough for him to "wait on the Lord" like Abraham
or the Israelites in Egypt. He wants to take matters into his OWN hands NOW,
which is THE PATH TO ANTICHRIST.

Dave, this is a mean-spirited characterization of futurists in general. I
don't find this malicious attitude to be present in most futurists at all.
On the contrary, I find them to want divine judgment as a means of
compassionate deliverance of God's people from evil, aggressive men, who
want to destroy them. Evil men have wanted for centuries to destroy both Jew
and Christian. It is only natural to want to see God put an end to these
evil men, without having any malice at all towards them. If these evil men
repent, we would have them to be included among those we call "God's
people."

And accurate.

May you live as long as you want to.
May you want to as long as you live.
Vengeance is mine, saith the Lord. Remember that?
Oh, I'm sorry! I forgot! Futurists get to tell God what's what!
