Description: GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
The Client Technologies Engineer is responsible for the 3rd level support of the Client environment. The analyst will be responsible for Client technology problem and incident resolution.
The Engineer will also provide advanced troubleshooting for issues that affect the Client environment, while working with a cross functional team of various departments.
The Engineer will also play a key role in the continuous improvement of processes and technologies which support the Windows client environment as a whole.
The Analyst should be self-motivated with a strong customer service background supporting a fast paced, dynamic environment. The candidate will need to have strong hardware/software troubleshooting abilities and be able to work in a team environment. This candidate should be self-efficient with practical experience resolving complex windows issues and serve as an escalation POC for desk side technicians. Five to Seven years of experience in a senior position supporting a Windows OS environment is critical for this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Supporting Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Office products along with an understanding.
* Installation, configuration, and the implementation of applications.
* Installation, configuration, and the deployment of laptop and desktops.
* Managing a problem ticket queue while upholding response and resolution service level agreements.
* Troubleshoot end user issues including software and hardware issues.
* Function as an escalation for onsite Level 2 technicians.
* Maintain, support and improve client technologies through a strong understanding of industry best practices.
* Participate in the development of technical standards related to the secure, reliable implementation of new technologies within the Windows client environment.
* Provide a secondary role in the packaging of applications which reside on Windows client machines.
* Provide third level technical support for the Windows client image, including the operating system and all associated applications
* Participate in solution architecture support for projects and initiatives which integrate with the Windows client infrastructure
* Continual process improvement. Participate in the development of policies, standards, procedures and processes for the reliable and secure operation of the Windows client environment
* Build and develop strong relationships with ITS business area clients by providing superior customer support as demonstrated by clearly owning, resolving and communicating issues and problems; being responsive to needs, requirements, and deadlines; and generally promoting goodwill in a professional and trust-building manner.
CHARACTERISTICS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
* Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
* Minimum of 5 years relevant, professional experience as a systems administrator for the Microsoft Windows operating system and Windows based technologies.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
* Demonstrated ability to multi-task, handling a number of projects and initiatives simultaneously through to successful conclusion.
* Strong attention to detail
* Strong analytical ability
* Strong customer service orientation
* Working knowledge of Visual Basic Scripting Tools
* Strong understanding and experience reading and developing VB scripts.
* Strong understanding of the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT)
* Intermediate knowledge of Active Directory managing groups and users
* Strong understanding of Group Policy
* Strong understanding of Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manger (SCCM)
* Strong understanding of the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system
Preferred:
* Microsoft Certified
* Demonstrated experience in a technical leadership role for the design and implementation of Windows based technologies.
* Experience developing polices, standards, procedures and processes to improve operational efficiencies in a Windows based environment
* Experience working under change management guidelines
* Software packaging skills with InstallShield/AdminStudio
* Experience Migrating to Windows 7
* Strong understanding of McAfee EPO and Antivirus
* Experience supporting OSX operating system
* Experience supporting iOS devices
