POSITION SUMMARY: The Bookkeeper must be familiar with company policies and procedures related to accounts payable, imprest accounts and payroll. The Bookkeeper processes center information and sends it to Corporate in a timely manner. He/she interfaces with the Administrator, Business Office Manager, and Regional Business Office Coordinator.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Benefits Designee (if not HR Manager);
2. Processes payroll in accordance with policies and procedures;
3. Processes and maintains all personnel records and files;
4. Processes information according to predetermined deadlines;
5. Processes all payroll and personnel reports;
6. Prepares time cards and distributes to appropriate departments;
7. Puts Customer Service First: Ensures that customers and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights;
8. Performs other duties as requested.
POSITION SUMMARY: The ‘function’ of Benefits Designee, assignable by the Administrator to the appropriate business office or personnel staff, is to be responsible for the review, dissemination, monitoring, and processing of information between Genesis corporate offices and center staff that is associated with any Genesis insurance/financial benefit or Worker’s Compensation claim. The Benefits Designee ensures compliance related to Federal and State regulations documentation requirements, including ongoing maintenance of the OSHA log.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Orients new and current employees regarding all available Genesis benefits;
2. Ensures that employees sign required “Sign-Off” sheet acknowledging receipt of information and places sheet within employee’s personnel file;
3. Maintains an inventory of all required benefits related forms;
4. Answers questions from employees about programs, eligibility, etc.;
5. Acts as the liaison between the center and Genesis corporate offices;
6. Fills out required reporting documentation to third party payors and corporate, including costs analysis;
7. Remains current in information regarding:
7.1 Blue Cross/Blue Shield Major Medical Program
7.2 Genesis Preventive Services Plan
7.3 Other HMO/PPO’s providing services to centers
7.4 Genesis Managed Care Program
7.5 GHV Advantage (Genesis Services Program)
7.6 Life Insurance and Disability Program
7.7 COBRA
7.8 Worker’s Compensation
7.9 Smoking Cessation
7.10 Retirement Plan
7.11 401 K
7.12 Leave of Absence
7.13 Americans with Disabilities Act
7.14 Family Leave Act

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. High school degree of equivalent with a minimum of two (2) years experience in Payroll and Accounts Payable.
2. Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.
