Description: POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible, along with project sponsors and resource managers, for delivering projects on time, within budget and with acceptable level of quality. Facilitate definition of project charter, scope, budget, schedule and other standard project management deliverables. Coordinate the work of project teams, track progress, communicate status, and ensure quality. The project may range from application upgrades to implementation of new applications and technologies. Assist in creating and maintaining a work environment conducive to effective communication, collaboration, team building and professionalism.
The IT Project Manager role (or position) encompasses communication, relationship management, analysis, and operational awareness. Will work closely with business leaders and subject matter experts to ensure that project requirements are adequately captured. Additionally will work closely with the leaders within Software Development, SysOps, and Data Security to ensure that resources are assigned and that the work is structured to promote iterative project delivery with regular feedback and buy-in from end users.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Planning, Tracking and Execution:
* Initiate projects by gathering and documenting project objectives, scope, and deliverables. Identify and validate the key business requirements.
* Define project budgets, resource plans, and schedules.
* Monitor and manage project progress using project plans, project milestones, and issue/risk management. Manage project scope and facilitate the change request process.
* Manage assignments to IT resources and track progress to target dates.
* Coordinate with stakeholders and others outside the IT department to complete projects properly and on time.
* Report project status through a defined communication plan that includes core team, extended team, Program Office, and project sponsors.
Training:
* Collaborate with business partners to define training plans for new software and/or new software features.
Production turnover:
* Prior to a new system or enhancement going into production, ensure that all appropriate testing has been completed, that all systems and user documentation is in order, and that operational readiness is confirmed.
* Coordinate business and IT partners to define and execute implementation plans.
Documentation:
* Coordinate and keep track of documentation needs and requirements within projects/applications/departments.

* Ability to prioritize and keep track of multiple projects with overlapping schedules

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
* Bachelors Degree required
* PMP Certification required
* Must have five years project management experience including a minimum of three years experience on IT projects
* Must have Agile Software Development experience
* Experience with the full software development life cycle
Must have experience using project management software; e.g. Project Insight
