Description: Required Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
5+ years of Release and/or Project Management experience
Understanding of SDLCs and methodologies
Fluency with Visio, Project Plan, Powerpoint, Excel, Word, etc.
Must communicate clearly and concisely both written and verbally
o Can produce professionally formatted reports and documents
o Can quickly document process flows, data flows, etc.
o Can design presentation to communicate detailed information in a
non-technical manner
o Able to quickly rollup detailed information into management level
summary
Strong inter-personnel and client relations skills
Highly organized and efficient in producing statuses
Enough technical background and knowledge to understand version
control, code branching/merging, environment management, etc.
Preferred experience, knowledge, and skills:
PMP, Lean Six Sigma or related project management certification,
with particular importance on Kanban and lean development processes
Development and/or systems analysis background strongly preferred
Microsoft Sharepoint experience
Duties & Tasks:
Efficiently coordinate release delivery related activities across
various groups (DEV, SA, QA, etc)
Provide direction to each group regarding deliverables, solicit
conflicts or issues, and provide mitigation steps
Host periodic project status meetings and provide output in the
form of project status reports
Proactively communicate to team on an ad hoc basis to keep them in
the loop
Track and monitor release milestones, identify risks to them and
get resolution
Keep track of all release related issues and their statuses
Manage (or reset as necessary) client expectations quickly,
preempt escalations where possible
Change Request Management
o Gather options from internal project team on change requests
o Provide approvals or alternate options to the requestor
o Inform internal project team of Change Request commitments
Deployment Management
o Compile build notes and submitting to customer for deployment approval
o Communicate deployment approval to the deployment team and report back
to customer upon completion
Project Budget Management
o Monitor actual project hours burned against estimates provided to
customers
o Identify potential issues with excessive time against projects and work
toward mitigation
Work with SME-Dev on project commitment options for releases
Maintain and publish current state of all non-production
environments; provide approvals for
Manage requests for non-code environment changes ("re-pointing")
Approve/deny requests for non-code environment changes
Prepare data and presentations for Governance and other regular
meetings with the customers
Relationships
Report to: Release Management Manager
Responsible Areas, Performance Indicators, Metrics, Criteria
1. Mitigate escalations from client
2. Zero escalations from the client before notification to internal
management
3. Minimize idle time of execution team (sa, dev, qa) by scheduling
tasks appropriately
4. Provide accurate release, defect & issues status reports within 30
minutes of request
5. Clarity of communication measured via number of follow
ups/questions
