Job Description
Summary:
Provide supervision of up to 20 production employees by utilizing hourly Leads who oversee up to 15 employees. Keeps Production Manager up to date regarding issues of importance. In the absence of Production Manager, substitute for the Bakery Manager.
Responsibilities:
Directs and coordinates activities involved with production and distribution of products.
Coordinates variety and quantity of products to be produced, according to orders and sales projections.
Implements and enforces policies to utilize plant operations human resources, machines, and materials productively.
Coordinates with HR and Temporary agency to ensure proper staffing levels are met.
Works with Bakery Production Manager in developing disciplinary action ensuring that the HR Supervisor has reviewed and approved proposed language and action to be taken. Along with the specific Production Manager and HR Supervisor, presents disciplinary action to employee.
Makes recommendations to specific Production Manager and General Manager in regards to potential termination of employees. Once approved, informs employee of termination with assistance from Production Manager and HR Supervisor.
Train subordinates in all phases of production activities.
Work with Bakery Production Manager on development of new items and/or enhancement of existing products.
Interacts with plant sanitation and quality assurance with Lead employees to ensure all sanitation and quality assurance procedures are being met.
Ensures all general and safety procedures and policies are being followed by all employees.
Conduct and/or oversee that annual training requirements are completed by all crew members.
Works closely with Maintenance personnel in an effort to keep all equipment running per specs.
Conducts and/or participates in monthly department/line meetings and employee one-on-one meetings throughout the year.
Prepares and presents (after sign-offs by specific Production Manager and HR Supervisor) employee performance reviews.
Participates with inventory and ordering procedures as required by Procurement and Accounting departments.
Monitors all production within their area of responsibility to ensure the highest quality.
Job Requirements
Education Requirements:
High school diploma
College Degree preferred
Experience Requirements:
Minimum of two to five years’ experience in the manufacturing of bakery or commissary products
Minimum of two to five years’ experience in a supervisory role
