Description: Job Description/Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have had positions as a Project Manager, Systems Engineer and/or IT Manager. This is a high-profile, challenging opportunity that demands excellent technical, communication and leadership skills with a strong customer focus. The Project Manager is principally responsible for the smooth delivery of QTS projects to our customers, within budget and on schedule with high customer satisfaction and service excellence.
* Manage technical projects independently, from development of the project plan to invoicing and job completion.
* Develop and manage detailed project plans, tracking and managing all project issues through project conclusion.
* Ensure that projects are completed on time, on budget with a high level of customer satisfaction.
* Direct project team staff activities to maximize service quality, staff efficiency and effectiveness.
* Act as liaison between customer, QTS staff and third parties to ensure clear communication, and manage customer expectations relative to project scope and activities.
* Coordinate development and maintenance of technical testing procedures and quality assurance processes.
* Participate in development of technical standards, processes, workflows, forms and procedures for Technical Operations Division staff, and in ongoing maintenance of standardized documents and resources.
Skills/Qualifications
* Bachelors Degree is required, in a technical or liberal arts discipline.
* 5+ years direct work experience in a project management capacity within an IT organization with strong experience with preparing project plans/work specifications, resource leveling, and job costing.
* 5+ years technical experience with networking, desktop applications, multiple operating systems and technical troubleshooting skills are required.
* Experience as a hands-on Systems Engineer and/or IT Manager is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of Window servers, Exchange and Virtualization is highly desirable.
* Strong leadership skills and experience in managing a technical team is required.
* Experience using project management software.
* PMP Certification preferred but not required.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, are required.
