POSITION TITLE: Marketing Manager, Strategic Marketing
REPORTS TO: Sr Director, Strategic Marketing
STATUS: Exempt X Non Exempt
JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
This position will be responsible to represent marketing on the major product development teams (new products, new markets, new applications) as well as completing a Commercial assessment and Business Case for Go/ No Go decisions for specified projects. Responsibilities include: understanding customer needs to provide direction to development teams, developing business cases in support of project go/ no go decision making, and participating as a Marketing Team lead on the major product development teams.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Marketing Team lead on Product Development teams * Complete business case * Direct/ Conduct market research to assess market opportunity * Assess business rationale, strategic fit * Conduct financial assessment scenarios · Work with clinical team members to manage relationships with the clinical investigators and potential thought leaders • Work with Core development teams, including participants from: • Regulatory • Research & Development • In Line Marketing • Finance • Production · Identify and address other strategic marketing issues 2. Provide input to product portfolio planning and strategic planning processes
QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM EDUCATION: MBA required with a BA in Business/ Marketing. Some financial background
MINIMUM SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 3-8 years in marketing in major medical device or pharmaceutical company. Proven ability to define customer requirements. Experience with launching new products. Strong business acumen, analytical skills and results orientation. Strong process orientation and a solid understanding of product development process. Strong communication, presentation and influence skills. Ability to understand technologies and clinical applications.
EQUIPMENT USED: Computer, photocopier, fax, desk, chair, file cabinet, bookshelf, phone.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: General office.
COMMUNICATION REQUIREMENTS: Excellent grammar, verbal and written communication skills. Congenial, diplomatic, patient, and able to interact well with customers. Must work well in a fast-paced environment with multi-task abilities and detail-oriented.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift boxes weighing not more than 75 lb., normal speech, hearing and vision.
MENTAL/APTITUDE REQUIREMENTS: Proficient with Math and complex analytical concepts, ability to multi-tasks and manage substantial workload. Attention to detail. Ability to quickly grasp concepts and processes. Ability to integrate computer processes and technical concepts.
CUSTOMERS: External - Physicians, Nurses, Facility purchasing agents, sales representatives, vendors, surgeons, LIFC partners Internal - Shipping, Finance, Material, Sales, Marketing, QA/QC, MIS, Admin. Assistants, Clinical, Officers and Directors
CLIENT CONTACT: Surgeon thought leaders and speakers
REQUIRED TRAINING: Customer Support Training (designated portions), all required general LifeCell Corporation training, and basic sales training.
