Description To manage accounts within assigned territory by developing and implementing selling programs and proactive customer service policies. Account Manager should fully understand the market dynamics and industry trends within their specific territory. The core mission is to increase sales by stated quotas while adding new customers and guarding against attrition of existing accounts in key markets. SUMMARY OF DUTIES: 1. Identify new accounts and close sales; maintain quality contacts with key decision makers; employ company resources as needed to close sales.
2. Manage existing accounts: expand current sales levels, understand changing customer needs, work with sales support, customer service, and credit departments to insure proper fulfillment of orders.
3. Become proficient in CRMS and use this marketing tool to its full capability.
4. Reach all assigned sales goals.
5. Prepare complete, accurate, detailed reports within established timelines: customer reports, trip reports, weekly reports, monthly reports, and special reports as requested.
6. Develop and implement marketing plans which maximize sales opportunities for all publishing companies represented by the PCS group sales force with marketing and sales management.
7. Prospect for new accounts through personal sales calls, networking, market research, telesales, fax and mail campaigns.
8. Meet minimum sales rep standards including number of calls and hours on the phone.
9. Perform additional tasks as assigned by team management.
10. Stay within assigned budgets.
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. BA/BS degree or equivalent theoretical depth.
2. Minimum one to three years professional experience required; demonstrated results in the needs-based and consultative selling process preferred. Basic understanding of territory management (planning, prospecting, closing) preferred.
3. Strong organizational, managerial, and personal skills to successfully communicate and negotiate with internal and external customers.
4. Basic computer skills are necessary to manage assigned duties. These include, but are not limited to, the Windows environment, account management software, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
5. Presentation skills: ability to perform in front of groups employing latest presentation technology and command of presentation graphics.
