Description: Project Assistant, ePortfolio Department:ePortfolio Location:Queensborough Issue Date:Wednesday, September 26, 2007 PVN Number:RIS-608

General Description: This position coordinates efforts to implement ePortfolio (electronic portfolios) across academic disciplines at Queensborough Community College. The Project Assistant will assist the Project Director with ePortfolio programming, outreach, and ePortfolio pedagogy workshops. Other Duties: Assisting with scheduling and supervising of ePortfolio peer tutors.

Working with the director to develop training modules for peer tutors.

Delivering training to peer tutors.

Providing extensive support to faculty exploring integration of ePortfolio, podcasts, blogs and wikis, digital video and audio clips in course curricula involved with ePortfolio.

Assisting with graphics needed for variety of ePortfolio webpages and print publications.

Assists with web-based data collection and analysis.

Other duties as assigned.Salary:45,000-49,500 Core Competencies/Qualifications: Project management skills (since the person will assist the project director with implementation logistics and coordinate with peer tutors).

Experience training others on the use of technology (particularly experience offering training and support to people in positions of authority).

Teaching experience (ideally experience teaching with an e- portfolio).

Experience working in an educational setting (since the person will assist the project director with program issues related to pedagogy and ePortfolio).

Creative thinker and problem solver (teaching others the system also involves helping them see the potential uses of the system).

Collaborator/Team-player.

General knowledge of educational technologies (since use of one tool often leads to use of others).

Marketing/Outreach experience (since part of the position is getting others to believe in the new technology). Position will remain open until filled.
