Greetings;

I was a SysOp of a BBS in the 1990s (1992 thru 1997) and was a hub on
fidonet for part of that time. It was a fun hobby. I am interested in
getting started again and would like to throw a question out there:
what suggestions do folks have for a FreeWare BBS software? Is FidoNet
still around and if so does P4 or something like it still apply?

Thanks-

Ken

Hey Ken,
Fidonet is still around. I just started running my board again a few months
back. I have both fidonet and metronet on my board right now. Yes, Policy4 is
still basically the same now as it was then. I'm posting this from The Stepping
Stone BBS, which also carries fidonet. If you are looking for something easy to
set up fast, synchronet is free now. I'm running Renegade and Synchronet both.

Depending on what OS you choose to run, the provided link hosts plenty
of options :)

I just started BBSes myself (thanks to the documentary at the provided
link) & am having a heck of a time getting much going ... but that's
the fun of it.

Keep us up to date.
