I just read every post I could since the recent episode aired. I was
wondering if I was the only one who saw Dwalla in BG's CNC during the
big shaking scene when the camera pans some of the people in the
control center.
When your continuity people reviewing footage for aq "stock" shot
can't notice a major character who is dead.... sigh, but the show is
coming apart at the seams with the final 10 episodes.
The big message is, smoke in public, drink to excess because it is
finally the end of the world.
Phil
Point out where that happened. I went through the last episode again and saw
no big shaking scene.
O. M. G. ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!? For some reason I haven't deleted the
ep yet, that's reason enough to sit through that mess again!
...er, I mean, "It's too bad I didn't record the episode on my VHS
recorder in full compliance with Fair Use. I'll have to make sure to
watch it when it's rerun, complete with all commercial interruptions."

Not even close, just the end of a very poorly run TV show.

I just reviewed it also, and it's at the 29 minute mark. How in the
hell could they be that sloppy?! It's the scene where Kara is speaking
to Sam, the ship starts shaking, the lights start flickering, etc.

Well, there was a pretty black girl with her hair pulled back. But I
don't think it's actually stock footage of Kandyse McClure. The
actress appears to have thinner lips and is wearing a brown uniform
which I've never seen Dee wearing before. I think it's just an extra
who just happens to resemble her. In any case, I put up comparison
pictures on my blog in case you are in a mood to compare:

Yeah, I thought that too but it's not her. See Zombie Elvis'
post.

Episode "No Exit"
Hmmm, the angles don't allow for a very easy comparison. I'll be forced
to rewatch the ep before I can render a final and binding judgment.
Also notice that Tigh was missing his eye patch

Uhhh...noo that's not her.
I agree..
And after looking at that part several times , that was not Tigh either.
i had to replay that scene thinking that it was dee, also. but i don't
think it is.
it reminds me how i thought the old pegasus crew chief (the guy who
was wrenched by zarek) was a doral in disguise. mistaken identity...
That's not Dualla. I can see a similarity - due to the hair scrape and the
location, but this girl's eyes are differently set. She's not as weird
looking as Dualla. We're just not used to seeing black (background)
characters in major event shows such as BSG, so I'd give them a pat on the
back for having the imagination to do it.

Was it a profile shot? I checked it on a video editor. I can't make a 100%
ID.

Unless I missed it, that wasn't Tigh.
Is it possible that Dualla wasn't a mistake?

Yeah, sure, maybe her parents were planning to have a kid.
"I'm feeling better now, actually."
"It was merely a flesh wound."
"You shall not have been minorly wounded in vain."
etc, etc, etc (ooops, different movie there)

It is all a matter of taste but she isn't "weird looking". She's VERY
beautiful. As I said before she could had been a model but Kandyse
McClure is only 5'0.25" given the bias in the fashion industry. On
BSG only Grace Park was prettier facially, but not by much!
As for black background characters supposedly not being in the
background usually for "major event shows" I disagree. We see them
all the time, especially on BSG over the years. I do wish there were
more *foreground* characters (Rekha Sharma who plays Tory Foster-and
is also *very* beautiful-doesn't count since she is descended from
the Indian subcontinent {India, Pakistan, Bangladesh-but she was born
in Canada} and not of African decent). I wish they made Dualla a
Final Five Cylon, she still be alive if she were :-( . Maybe gave
Skulls a bigger supporting role or have the Simons say more than 10
words a season. Hell, We haven't heard word one from them these past
eight episodes.
For those who have either recorded it on a VCR or TiVo or downloaded
it step through the scene in question frame by frame. And Dualla
NEVER wore desert camouflage. Only green fatigues before she became
an Officer. And I went to the sight it is a false comparison anyway
since both heads must be in the same position to make a valid
comparison. At the website with the picture of the person in question
is looking up to the left with us from a slightly down angle below
her jaw line in alternating bright light and shadow. While in the
second shot is a near full frontal shot of Dee in even lighting. Not
a way to identify a person.
At anyrate it is not Dee. There is simply no reason to use stock
footage anyway.
