There are a lot of decent-sounding openbacks out there, but
if you want a banjo that sounds as good as the Seeger or the
ODE, you're going to have to pay for it.
I don't think the Goodtime is going to give you what you're
looking for.
Have you looked at the GoldTone upper-end models, like the
White Layde?
How about the Recording King open-backs?
Or a Bart Reiter?
You might even look for a used Wildwood openback.
A Deering-Vega #2 might be nice as well, but $$$ unless you
can find a deal on a used one...
