Pete sure is something special. Had to smile we saw Tony Trishka and Leo
Kottke this spring and both men had wonderful Pete stories to share.

I met Tony about 3 years ago, he was playing a small venue in Northern
Indiana.
Really nice guy, very personable. Very down to earth for being an icon who
has played with the likes of Pete Seeger and every other major banjo player
on the planet. Between sets he just milled around with the 50 or so of us
who came to see him, and chatted with us like an old friend, I was very
impressed with his manner.

Hey Michael,
We saw Tony in Feb. He (and band) did a banjo-history workshop at
Wintergrass in Tacoma this year, that I must admit ...was fascinating. Very
cool to have someone tell you about a type of music and then demonstrate it
beautifully.....from 6 feet away. Then he surprised us and taught an
intermediate banjo workshop (someone else got sick and couldn't be
there).....and his guitar player taught a flat-picking workshop we sat in
on. Of course..... we had to see his band every time they played all
weekend. So.....I'd have to agree. He's totally down to earth, very
approachable and personable. Seems like a *really* nice guy ......who just
loves banjos. :)

My teenage son (the *serious* banjo picker in the family) was in 7th heaven.
:)
He ran right out and bought Tony's book...which is awesome.
