OK, my turn for a question.

"Hear Me Now" by Texas has just come up on my shuffle, and I don't
seem to be able to listen to it without repeating "Hear Me Now!" in a
West Indian accent every time Sharleen sings the words of the title.

I'm assuming I picked the phrase up from popular culture - any ideas
where?

No idea - but you aren't the only one*. In fact, I'm absolutely *sure* I
have heard it said somewhere by someone with that sort of accent on more
than one occasion.

* Mind you, there are a lot of songs that I like to "sing" along to with
slightly odd voices and accents, such as reciting the words in a posh voice
just as they are sung. Dunno why. It just passes the time while driving, I
guess.

Found it. Bit of a hit back in the day[1] - which means it had a lot of
airplay and, unless you were on Pluto at the time, you will almost certainly
have heard it, and therefore the key bit (which is around two minutes thirty
three seconds in).

[1] ie I can't remember what year it was. Mid-90s I think.
