Autumn

I've raved before about the book Autumn, by David Moody, and mentioned that
it was being put on film. I can't remember when I last commented, and can't
be bothered to check, but the basic progress report which runs from "It's
being made into a film" however long ago that was, and brings us right up to
date is:

Zone Horror on Saturday 24th October on 10:55pm.

An important point to remember when watching that it's a zombie flick, and
it's almost traditional for zombie flicks to be made on a shoestring and
therefore have dodgy effects and makeup - but in this case, that
almost-a-tradition is added to by being produced by a small company (I think
it's only their third or fourth film) and so on - but at the same time,
remember that it's based on a Very Good Book[1].

FWIW, another of David's books (the excellent Hater) is also in production,
to be directed by Guillermo del Toro, a name which some might recognise - so
a slightly bigger name attached to that one.

[1] Due for re-release with a slightly bigger publisher (David set up his
own publishing company originally) in about a year's time.
