I did alot of this sort of thing about 10 years ago using cellulose paint,
zinc primer etc, and a hobby type compressor (mainly non-metallic), and last
year I touched up a roof sunroof opening that ended up cracked (using
halfords spray tins, sprayed white primer over grey stopper primer).
It seems now that cellulose is on its way out. Are there better ways to do
this or should I stick with cellulose?
Project 1
White car- sunroof and window rust - I want to do this completely myself and
use cellulose, I found at least one company can supply it at GBP27 per
litre.
project 2
Metallic grey car - Prepare myself upto (cellulose?) primer then leave in
for 2 pack colour coat. Including some new welded panels, and rust repairs.
Rust protection is important, and in the past I used Zinc plate spray, but
might try electroplating the repaired areas with a charged felt pen this
time.
