Hello All -

Great Group here. My Trusty 87 Celica GT's heater seems to have a mind of
it's own. Everytime When I first start the car up in the Morning, the Heater
works for about 10 minutes, without fail. After that, it quits, blows cold
air usually, and then works intermitently for teh rest of my driving time.
It might come back an work for 2 seconds, or 20 minutes... Hard to tell
What's going on here.

I've replaced the thermostat, and flushed the radiator, but still no luck.
It might be the heater Core, but I'd hate to shell out for that.

Any Ideas?!?!?

Thanks so much... a Few more years, and I might have saved enough change for
a new Celica!

Matt =)

Yep, broken solder joints at the pins in the control head, caused from
years of wiggle from the vehicle wire harness, hit them with a bit of
solder, that should do it.

Matt,
It is not the heater control valve. I have manually by passed mine, to
no avail...which means the inside vaccum operated heater door is also
not opening...which it does at random. My best success is to turn the
heater to "OFF"...it usually resets. Let me know if you hear anything.
