OT-Obama's Re-election Spurs Republicans to Easily Solve the Deficit and Debt Problems

In a stroke of genius, the red states that want to secede from the union
will solve the nations deficit and debt problems in just a few short years.
Other than Texas, all the states that want to secede, receive far more
money in federal aid than they pay in taxes.
For every dollar they paid in federal taxes, Mississippi received $2.47,
Alabama $2.03, South Carolina $1.92, Louisiana $1.45, Tennessee $1.30,
$1.47, Oklahoma $1.48.
The Democrats are sure to go along with the secession plan because
besides the fiscal benefits there would end up being a lot fewer red
states, making it much easier for the Democrats to win national elections.
The fiscally conservative Republicans will be thrilled at so easily
getting rid of the dependent victims who are mooching off federal
dollars--they are essentially self-deporting.
There are side-benefits as well. All those auto plants in the south will
no longer be required to compete with the wages of the unionized
northern auto plants, so they'll be able to pay lower wages and sell
vehicles more cheaply.
If all the seceding states want to form another country together, we can
help them write a constitution that forbids a minimum wage, requires
faith based math and science education (creationism required, evolution
forbidden), is more explicit about weapons (no restrictions, no
wondering what "a well regulated militia" means), permits segregation,
and makes southern Baptist the official religion.
Let's work toward this win-win scenario and encourage these states to
proceed with their secession plans.

think five. That would give then 5x the number of senators, and give
control back to the Republicans, assuming all ten senators were Republicans.

Unlikely. The price of fuel and food are set by the commodities market.

Besides the seceding states having lower wages and laxer environmental
regulations (if any), they will still have to compete on the world
market to sell their goods.
Remember, only the really lunatic red states are really interested in
seceding, and there are a sufficient number of blue states and
non-lunatic red states growing food and producing fuel.
It's all moot of course. None of these states want to secede, it's just
a few attention-seeking morons making a lot of noise because they're
upset that they didn't win. Ditto for all the threats to move to Canada
or Australia, as if these countries would let in a bunch of poor,
uneducated Americans to mooch off their socialized medicine system.
Those countries may not give them free Reagan phones either (the free
phone program was actually started by Reagan for landlines, and expanded
to cell phones under W).

As a Californian, I'd be especially happy if those red states seceded.
California is in eighth place in terms of paying the most federal taxes
for the least return.
Of the 17 states that pay more taxes to the federal government than they
receive in benefits, only one voted Republican this time, Texas.
Of the 20 states that receive the most federal benefits per dollar paid,
5 out of the top 20 are solid red. Romney didn't realize that the 47%
reside in mainly red states, and that they actually _were_ voting for
him. The red states also tend to be poorer (which is why they need more
federal benefits) and more poorly educated (which is why they are red
states). They survive on the largesse of the federal government. They
aren't going anywhere.

much hope of the moochers actually seceding, unfortunately.
