What is the recommended fix for putting new whiskers in the window
flippers on a hdtp hawk? Looks like they have little rolled up edges,
making repair a challenge!

Go to your local hardware store and pick up a roll of the 1/4 inch foam
insulation tape for windows. It is a polyfoam material backed with adhesive.
Spread it out on some newspaper and with some art store acrylic black paint,
dry brush som paint on. Dry brushing will allow it to remain pliable. Then get
some contact cement and apply a thin coat on the flippers and allow to dry to a
tacky feel.

Carefully press the weatherstrip onto the flippers, allow to dry.

You will need to re-align the flippers as the foam is thicker than the OEM
material.

Another.... been there... done that.

Better fix and the one I used is to go to the hobby store and buy a roll of
self adhesive velcro in black color. Remove the old whiskers with a razor and
then clean the slotted frame carefully. Cut the non hooked side of the velcro
to fit and press it on. Looks like the original.
