I just received information that Jim Kranac (jimmijim8) was involved in a
very serious auto accident while on his Southern swing. He was hit
broadside by a drunk driver at a high rate of speed which resulted in a
broken neck and other injuries. He has some feeling on both sides. He is
currently in the Richland (sp) Trauma Hospital in Columbia, SC. No other
details are available at this time. I will post any updates as I get them.

That's awful news, hope it has a happier ending and he recovers
fully and a few 100K from the drunk would be nice.

Dang, that's bad. My prayers are with him too. He was at the 3rd GA
State meet, selling his beautiful GT Hawk reproduction dash overlays.
He's a great guy! Hope he heals up 110%.

Make that two Newsgroupers...
I dumped my H-D yesterday morning coming home from the coffee shop. I came
around an S-curve in the street about two blocks from my home, one of the
other troopers that lives in the neighborhood was washing his wife's PT
Cruiser stood up from behind the Cruiser when he heard me driving past. He
hollered at me right after I drove by his driveway and waved. I looked over
my right shoulder to see who it was and waved at hime with my left hand.
When I looked back where I was going, standing in the street slap-dab in
front of me was a Jehova's Witness. I was going about 15mph, hit my rear
brake, skidded sideways (facing the curb) and stopped just short of hitting
the JW. My momentum flopped the bike over on it's left side onto the street.
I got a few bruises and scrapes. The 2003 FLSTSI now has some road rash on
the left bag, RV mirror, crash bar, hiway peg, passing lamp ring and front
fender. I picked up the bike, drove it 2 blocks and into my garage and
closed the door. At least the JW didn't knock on my door Saturday morning.
For some reason, they skipped my house this weekend.

You're required to report this to the police and DMV, aren't you?
Did the JW give you any copies of Awake? Great little magazine once you
get past the religious stuff. I'm probably the only agnostic who looks
forward to my JW buddy's visit.

Dang it, Loy, you're supposed to be careful on those things! Glad it was
mostly pride that got hurt.

Did something just about like that on my 'Glide... with WHF on the back.
Got her a set of crash wings, but ya know, she never sewed them on anything.

Reminds me of a friend who dropped his new H-D Screaming Eagle with his wife
on the back. He checked his m/c for damage and then went to the aid of his
wife. Didn't earn him any brownie points for sure.

I had just put Screaming Eagle pipes on my Fat Boy, and then got in some
loose gravel and laid her down on the right side - first thing the wife said
was,"are the pipes okay?" - then asked how my leg was...
