Not very likely. Model 23 was standard on all models except Y1. Of
course it might have been changed later, or special ordered with a 44.
The model number should be cast into the back side of the gusset, or
reinforcing web, found at the lower right side of the differential
case.

If you look at the parts book , a Model 44 was used in some 1959
