And in all this time , NOTHING. Some how all the people who are waiting for
some big, tax scandal, are waiting for a bus on the wrong corner.
If there were ever bags of cash disappearing, that is long ago. Wally did
not want to pay taxes. He knew with a non or not for profit, that money
could go towards compensation for top people and into the business. Problem
will be, when things get so bad the new top guys want out, you can't readily
sell a non or not. So, they can sell the real estate,
race tracks that are only good for race tracks, and not much else.

I'm not waiting for anything, just answering questions posed by Mr. Dornbos.
The NHRA is a not for profit organization and the IRS is/was investigating
it on that basis. No more , no less.

Hi Roscoe,

The NHRA is an NPO and has been since day one. What is your source of your
mis-information about an IRS investigation? Please post it for me or email it
to me. I happen to know that this is in FACT a false statement.

Chip, you may go back through any of the Southern Ca. papers, local track
papers, TV news archives, and If I'm not mistaken, N.D. even had a blurb
about it . It was headline news just a couple of years ago. All the IRS will
say is that there is an ongoing investigation and that they are not able to
comment on it. That the NHRA is a not for profit organization was never in
dispute, it's BECAUSE of that status that the investigation was initiated,
at least that's what I am led to believe. I know squat about mega-high
finance, and even less about what I read about this investigation, but I DID
read about it , and on more than one occaision. If you KNOW that there WAS
NO investigation, then the media made a big deal out of nothing. That has
happened before, alot. I'm not making anything out of it, I coul not care
less about the NHRA's financial situation. Someone asked a question and I
gave an answer based on what I read, as indicated in my post. Real or not.
big deal or not, just passing on what I read. I did make an inquiry and got
the no comment/active investigation routine from the IRS. There you have it
.............

There was an investigation. Not unusual for IRS to latch onto an indiviual
or company and look at and bother them.
Nothing was ever found to bring charges or call for penalty payments.
It amounts to zip.
