looks like the fuel pressure damper is straightforward to replace -
e.g. don't need to remove fuel rail. just checking if anyone has any
caveats/suggestions - e.g. replace the fuel pressure regulator at the
same time, ...

I've never seen a damper fail - did you run the tests in the manual to
be sure it was bad?

no, but it was leaking. and my mechanic replaced the lines around it
too, so figured it wouldn't hurt. seems to be working fine. but i
imagine the regulator is ready to be replaced too, and didn't do that.
